Remembering Dewayne Hendricks WA8DZP SK

Dewayne Hendricks (WA8DZP) headshotLate last week, as many in our community now know, we lost another member of the ARDC community: Dewayne Hendricks WA8DZP.

Obtaining his amateur radio license at the age of 12, Dewayne once stated that he “was amazed at the many things I could accomplish with radios and the people who use them.” One of these accomplishments goes back to the early days of amateur radio TCP/IP, when he made a name for himself by porting KA9Q NOS to the 68k Mac. A self-proclaimed Serial Entrepreneur, Dewayne became known as the Broadband Cowboy, as he played a significant role in bringing wireless broadband networks to many countries all over the world. …more

Findings from the Grants Evaluation Team (GET)

One of the biggest questions we get from our community is: which grants awarded by ARDC are successful? To answer this question, ARDC established the Grants Evaluation Team (GET) in 2024 to dive into reports from completed projects and compile their findings in a report, which we are pleased to be able to share. …more

ARDC Team Spotlight

Dennis Mojado (AD6DM)

Dennis Mojado (AD6DM) headshotDennis is currently serving his first year on the TAC. When asked about what he enjoys most about being on the TAC, Dennis states, “I enjoy being able to participate in the discussions, see the brilliance of the developers and technical architects, and see innovative new ways that we can use this internet resource that the ARDC manages. It is some great insight into how an org works for the benefit of amateur radio operators. A lot of great ideas are offered and expounded, and I feel like my input is valued by the staff and fellow volunteers. I think the ARDC is headed for great things, and I think hams, especially tech-savvy hams (which is the majority of hams) will be excited about what we are going to offer.” Outside of volunteering at ARDC, Dennis enjoys working with hacking hardware, such as Arduino and LoRa boards. You can also find Dennis enjoying activities outside of radio, such as camping, travel, woodworking, and motorcycling. If you’d like to learn more about Dennis, be sure to visit ad6dm.net, his personal website.

Thank you Dennis for your contributions toward carrying out our mission at ARDC!
