Thammasat University is a leading educational institution in Thailand, dedicated to leveraging advanced engineering principles and technology to enhance national disaster management capabilities. The Faculty of Engineering at Thammasat University has achieved significant milestones in improving disaster management and incident communication in the country. One of its key accomplishments is the establishment of the first Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Functional Branch for National Incident Management, which has integrated its ICT solutions into the national disaster response framework. The Faculty has also successfully trained 200 amateur radio operators through specialized emergency response programs.

To further this progress, the Faculty seeks to promote New Packet Radio (NPR) technology to enhance disaster management and response capabilities in Thailand. This funding is essential for the preparation and distribution of 50 portable “Go Box” communication kits equipped with NPR technology, which will provide reliable internet connectivity during emergencies when traditional communication infrastructures may fail. Additionally, financial support will enable comprehensive training programs for 500 amateur radio operators, ensuring they are proficient in utilizing this technology.
