Dessalines S.T.E.A.M. Academy, located in the South Shore area of Massachusetts, focuses on providing innovative STEM education to students from marginalized and low-income backgrounds, particularly those underrepresented in STEM fields.

With this grant, Dessalines S.T.E.A.M. Academy plans to expand its “Shades of STEM: Engineering-Is-Us” Fellowship program through a new initiative called Radio MRI. Students will engage in a hands-on learning experience, building a simple radio and a 3d-model of an MRI machine while exploring the engineering principles behind MRI machines.
