March 15, 2025 Community Meeting Recap

On Saturday, March 15, 2025, we hosted our latest Community Meeting, where 45 folks were in attendance to learn about our recent work and our path ahead. Executive Director Rosy Schechter KJ7RYV kicked off the meeting by introducing our newest Staff and Board Members, along with our 2025 Advisory Committee members.

From there, we reflected on achievements from the past year. Director of Grantmaking Chelsea Párraga KF0FVJ and Director of Technology Schuyler Erle N0GIS provided updates on our Grants Program and 44Net, respectively, all of which are detailed in our recently published 2024 Annual Report. The report highlights, among many things, the impact of our funding initiatives and our ongoing efforts to enhance the 44Net.

To conclude the meeting, President Bdale Garbee KB0G unveiled ARDC’s Vision Statement and accompanying Strategic Approach, which serves as a roadmap to align our work with both our mission and our vision. Specifically, our strategy focuses on three key objectives– Learning, Experimenting, and Doing– all in an effort to promote education, innovation, and real-world application in amateur radio and digital communications. Through these efforts, we aim to strengthen our initiatives and ensure long-term impact.
