Grant: Project Persephone

Date: February 2024
Amount: $158,924

Bronco Space is a student-led university organization located at Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) committed to democratizing space access. To date, Bronco Space has sent four satellites to space for remarkably low-cost and short development cycles, partnered with NASA on several technology development grants, and built its own ground station using the SatNOGS (Satellite Network of Open Ground Stations) System. Their core mission is to streamline and innovate within the pathway to space exploration, focusing on developing cutting-edge, cost-effective CubeSat technologies.

Bronco Space would like to allow more organizations to have access to space missions by creating open-source hardware and software tools available to all. These tools are built around the cube-sat standard. Bronco Space was awarded this grant to finance the launch and operations of the 2U OreSat0.5 satellite on the Transporter 11 mission.
