The AGISETI initiative, hosted by the SETI Institute, focuses on advancing STEM education through hands-on learning in radio astronomy and digital communication. Leveraging the expertise of SETI scientists and the state-of-the-art Allen Telescope Array, the program collaborates with community college instructors to inspire students and educators in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI).

ARDC awarded SETI a pilot grant to support the development of a preliminary GNU Radio-based curriculum. Modular courses that were developed from the this pilot grant are available on their website (www.agiseti.com). They also received pilot funds to organize a workshop for community college instructors at the Hat Creek Radio Observatory (HCRO).

Based on feedback received from over two dozen community college instructors during discussions about these materials, SETI is now expanding on their initial success to: (1) expand the curriculum to include 15 additional hands-on labs integrating SETI, (2) conduct similar workshops for more instructors at HCRO, and (3) seek travel support to deploy and conduct these labs to assist instructors at around 10 community colleges.
