Grant: SWE 2024 Programs
Date: November 2024
Amount: $130,000
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a national organization dedicated to empowering women to reach their full potential in engineering and leadership roles. Founded in 1950, SWE works to increase the number of women in engineering and technology, support their professional success, and promote diversity within the field. Through outreach programs, educational initiatives, and networking opportunities, SWE strives to inspire and retain women in STEM, with a particular focus on high school and community college pathways.
In 2024, ARDC is supporting SWE’s scholarships for women pursuing STEM degrees, including a new scholarship effort aimed at students in India. The grant will also strengthen SWE’s Community College Affiliate Support and Expansion (CCASE) Program. The CCASE Program is designed to encourage more women in community colleges, particularly those facing exceptional financial challenges and from underrepresented backgrounds, to pursue a STEM degree.
